Abstract

A collective monograph dedicated to the phenomenon of globalization, prepared by domestic experts and published in the West, presents an interdisciplinary study of one of the basic processes of modern civilization. Moreover, the emphasis is on the philosophical component of the phenomenon, an adequate analysis of which allows, on the one hand, to understand, if possible, the complex turbulent interweaving of the current world interstate situation, and on the other hand, to approach the perception of potential predictive civilizational trends. The author of the review believes that the presented work, which is based on basic research in the field of global problems of the Soviet era in the last quarter of the 20th century, sums up the developments in the field of globalization in the first two decades of the 21st century, fixing the elements of the deglobalization process. The next step in this direction should, according to the reviewer, give a more specific assessment of current and potential predictive trends in global studies, while taking into account the high “degree” of “instability” of modern world civilizational processes, balancing at the “junction” of globalization and deglobalization.
