Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the position of women in the heretical movements of ancient Christianity, in particular, in Gnosticism and Montanism. The current theoretical problem of this study is a comprehensive analysis of the female image in the unorthodox communities of early Christianity. The article reveals the features of the position and ministry of women in the heretical movements of the first centuries of Christianity. It is concluded that the heretical movements in early Christianity were very charismatic. Women in the heretical movements of the first centuries of Christianity occupied a fairly high position. These movements had their own hierarchy of women’s ministries.
