Dialectal vocabulary of the newspaper corpus of the Yakut language (based on the material of the ulus newspaper “Tompo ildyite” - “Tomponsky Bulletin”)

Abstract

In this article, the author examines the dialectal vocabulary of newspaper texts published in the weekly regional newspaper “Tompo ildite” (“Tomponsky bulletin”) for 2014-2018. The vocabulary of these texts can be attributed to the group of dialects of the central dialectal zone of the Yakut language. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that newspaper texts have not previously been studied in terms of the presence of dialectal signs. The collected material can become a part of the lexico-thematic group of the newspaper corpus of the Yakut language. A sample of dialect words and expressions was carried out from 256 newspaper issues. The following general scientific methods were used: description, continuous sampling, phonetic and semantic analysis, data interpretation. As a result of the study, phonetic correspondences were determined, including assimilative, dissimilative changes characteristic of the central group of dialects of the Yakut language. Single phonetic correspondence was found belonging to another dialect of the Yakut language. This fact is an objective feature of the newspaper text, which is subject to editorial revision. New connotative meanings of well-known dialect words and expressions have been determined. Dialectal words and expressions were discovered that had not previously been recorded in lexicographic publications. The analysis showed that in the ulus newspaper there is a reduction in texts of different genres (memoirs, folklore texts) containing dialect words. This process is subjective (editing) and objective (generational change, archaization of lexical units).
