Workshop “Modality in the language of children and adults” April 13-15, 2016, Institute for Linguistic Studies RAS, Saint Petersburg

International workshop “Modality in the language of children and adults” took place in Saint-Petersburg on April 13-15, 2016 and was organized by Institute for Linguistic Studies RAS and Saint Petersburg State University. A wide range of problems was discussed at the workshop, including questions of acquisition of modal meanings (command, wish, certainty etc.) and means of their expression (verbal mode, modal lexemes), as well as problems of modality in the languages of the world, also in a typological perspective. The international workshop hosted scientists from Austria, Finland, Germany, Israel, Norway, South Korea, Sweden, as well as from different Russian cities.
