Abstract

In the past few decades, the concept of “sustainable development” has been in the optics of many subject areas of knowledge. However, none of them was able to offer a conceptually new paradigm for the knowledge of objects and processes of sustainable development. Which is quite logical, given that such a task requires a special level of reflection, which implies a significant expansion of the categorical and conceptual apparatus. The philosophy of sustainable development is a new research direction that should contribute to the integration of already existing subject ontologies in order to create a more mobile and flexible cognitive structure. The article provides examples of the established understanding of design, as well as considers its promising social aspects. A hypothesis is formed that allows us to present sustainable development activities within the framework of a sociotechnical scheme, which allows us to set in it the areas of knowledge that are formed that can be attributed to research and design activities. The study of design processes is fundamentally important for the formation of new sustainable development programs. Previously, such programs contained only economic or political factors. Time has shown that such programs need to form a philosophical core. Thus, philosophy provides a systematic understanding of dynamic processes. The article examines the future ontology, which is formed within the framework of the paradigm of sustainable development.
