Abstract

The multi-faceted work of the venerable Russian writer is evaluated from the point of view of philosophical breakthroughs associated with the spiritual development of the timelessness of the turn of the 19-20th centuries. Engaged in revealing the universal nature of man, Andreev is concerned with the age-old anthropological theme: what is the “art of living”? And with all his artistic pursuits, he gives a hard-won answer: the art of living is to remain true to oneself, to one’s own existential vocation. The immaculate philosophical-anthropological platform for the versification of humanity is given full-scale detailing in terms of momentalism, which focuses on the point of uniform perpetuation of the infinite by the finite.
