Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of some epistemological and socio-psychological aspects of the problem of communication in the modern information and communication society. Here we consider two main types of communication: the “human-computer” dialogue and interpersonal network dialogue, implemented using information and communication technologies. Emphasizing the metaphoricity of the term “dialogue” in this case, the authors analyze the conditions for implementation, the essence and structure of the “human-computer” dialogue. The article shows the specific and ambiguous nature of the influence of interpersonal network dialogue on the change of a person’s personality and cultural ecology. Considering the specifics of the “human-computer” dialogue, the authors pay attention to the conditions of its implementation and the mutual activity and demands of its participants. Communication also has its own specifics, in which the computer, not being a participant in the dialogue, performs the functions of a communicative intermediary. The goal setting of communication and the role of the emotional component associated with it, which is more significant than in the first form, becomes important here. It is shown that the intensive development of this form of communication leads to a qualitative change in the person’s personality and cultural ecology. It has a dual character. On the one hand, being in information and communication networks, a person forms himself, creating his environment in accordance with his conscious and unconscious mental attitudes. Thus, network communications explicitly or implicitly ensure the mutual creation of communicating people. On the other hand, they do not have an individual in themselves, but a mutual creation of elements of the network. A person turns from a person into a node of the information network. The possibility of free manipulation of real and virtual spaces creates serious difficulties. The authors pay special attention to the social and psychological consequences of both forms of communication for a person and society.
